The Isle of Makai is a whimsical tale of a grumpy, but kind King who banishes colors from his island kingdom, and how young Sophronia and her beautiful pygmy goat Tinker help the King save the Many of our fondest memories of moments in nature have to do with her extraordinary palette of colors.

From butterflies to flowers to storms to sunsets, the colors that occur in nature are a dazzling rainbow of choices. Nowhere have I seen colors that took my breath away more than the thousand and one shades of blue that you see flying over the waters around the Hawaiian Islands. That is the first place that I truly knew the meaning of azure blue. Isle of Makai is a child of that first flight and the wonder of the islands.
