I enjoyed this story for many reasons; the first being that the child is curious and the elder is kind and patiently guiding. Second, the multiple ways Don Poncho describes things will resonate with different readers. Nature has been important to me since I was a small child. I feel, especially given how quickly kids are forced to grow up these days, that we need to encourage them to slow down, breath, and never lose their connection to the earth.

"Can You Hear the Earth Sing" is a beautifully illustrated story that reminds children to stop the noise of today's world and listen to the quiet ways the earth will speak to them.

Maryna's ability to convey the beauty and importance of our connection to the world of nature is incredible. As our society moves further away from the natural world, Maryna's writing gains importance. We must share our connections with the world.

Maryna so exemplifies the gift of writing and compassion for nature! I can feel myself drift into peacefulness through her written visions! Truly a remarkable combination of talent and love all in one gift to the world!

Beautiful to read, profound! I could read this every day and never grow tired of it. When I was little, I used to walk to school on my own, talking to the trees and the earth, even the leaves that had fallen on the ground and the pavement beneath them. I have always remembered that. This story reminds me of those days of joyful innocence.

This story is lovely and very engaging with charming illustrations. I can picture the sparkle and wonderment in the little girl's eyes as Don Pancho replies to each question with beautiful, vivid illustrations of nature. They capture the imagination making you want to hear more of how can you hear the earth sing, Don Pancho?

Diane W. -- Dog Trainer, Businesswoman

I've been a fan of Maryna's professional writing for several years now, and have now discovered her story telling. In, "Can You Hear the Earth Sing," I feel transported to Mexico and am a bystander overhearing a conversation between a young girl and a wise elder. I can feel each metaphor unfold, line by line, as if I were standing there enjoying nature.

Connecting to nature is a vital part of the human experience that we tend to get away from, much to our detriment. Maryna is a born educator and truly practices what she preaches by connecting to nature every day, and helping others to enjoy nature as well. I know her story telling will continue to honor that work by extending to children as well.

It is the small things that are simultaneously SO big that nature is comprised of. Maryna has the gift and vision to bring the elements and importance of large, yet small, to youngsters is a quiet yet profound way. Maryna is a master of living large in nature which she conveys beautifully in her writing.

Suzanne De Laurentis -- Imagine a Horse

The lovely simple words touched my heart and reminded me why I sit quietly in the woods and just listen. The story settled my soul.

"Can You Hear the Earth Sing" is what I would expect a Southwestern haiku to be. So very much is said with so few words. Simply beautiful.
